Description
MarbleCast Alpha Crystalline Gypsum – Standard Setting
MarbleCast Alpha Crystalline Gypsum is a professional-grade casting material formulated for exceptional strength, precision, and surface detail. Made from high-purity alpha hemihydrate crystals, it delivers superior density, smoothness, and minimal expansion, making it ideal for sculpture, lifecasting, mold-making, and decorative casting applications.
The recommended mixing ratio is 100 parts powder to 25–30 parts water, providing a workable, creamy consistency with excellent flow and detail capture. Allow the plaster to soak for 30 seconds before mechanically mixing for 1 minute to ensure even dispersion and minimal air entrapment.
This standard-setting formulation offers a beginning of set at around 10 minutes, end of set at 13 minutes, and a full hardening time of approximately 30 minutes, allowing ample time for precise application and finishing. Once cured, MarbleCast produces a bright, hard surface with excellent edge strength and dimensional stability.
Important:
Always weigh the water first, then add the powder to the water—never the reverse.
Setting times may vary with ambient temperature and water conditions.
MarbleCast ensures reliable, high-quality results for both artistic and industrial casting projects.
